Mother Nature bears some miraculous gifts...it's called Ayurveda.

The word ayurveda takes me back to a delightful conversation with a very close friend.
I sat on her couch with a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee and the newspaper. My eyes fell on a beautiful picture of a model and I couldn't hold myself from calling my friend. The model was breathtakingly beautiful, her eyes sparkling and her skin was radiating. My friend joined me in admiration. Immediately we started wondering how models manage to look so fit and so beautiful.
"Ayurveda helps" she said. I blinked.
"I've heard of the word ayurveda Ankita, but what is it?"
"It is a traditional practice in medicine, to battle all kinds of disorders with herbal solutions" she patiently explained.
"Well medicines do that too." I replied uninterested to know more.
" I was three years old. When I got a grotesque white patch on my forehead. It got my family worried.
The patch spread like wildfire and we tried every medicine possible in this planet. No doctor was able to treat my ailment. I was suffering from a severe case of Vitiligo where my immune system destroyed my pigmentation cells." I listened to her with rapt attention.
"What happened next?" I curiously asked.
"My parents were horrified. My dad then stumbled upon a woman who was trained in traditional ayurvedic practices. Since there was nothing to lose, we tried it and magically, it worked. Since then, we approached every ailment of ours with ayurvedic practices."
She smiled as she made her point. Her skin was flawless and perfect, proving that ayurveda was indeed miraculous to her.
I immediately went back home and did more research on ayurveda. From my studies I found out that synthetic medicines merely treat the symptoms, not the cause whereas ayurveda address the cause at the root level.
Ayurveda believes that every problem or disorder arises in the body because of accumulation of toxins. Therefore all of it's solutions involve cleansing and detoxifying the body which stimulates a healthy flow of blood around the body.
Getting a little more interested, I decided to adopt a few ayurvedic practices into my life as well.
I feel as fit as a fiddle!
Straight from the nature, like Gods gifts, they are indeed miraculous.

OH MILEY!

What comes to your mind when you hear of Miley Cyrus? HANNAH MONTANA.
Many teenage girls engrossed themselves vicariously in the "Hannah Montana" show. Miley Cyrus plays the role of a vivacious young teenage girl who is a normal school girl in the day and an adulated pop star at night. While the show had many girls glued to their television, it's end marked the beginning of Miley's doom.
She is no longer the cute little girl we saw on TV. She is sadly, a drug addict, trying to live her pop star life. The pot parties, the " twerking", dirty dressing  and her antics are only demeaning her as a star.
But why is she doing all of this?
Is she crazy? She sure as hell is. From such antics, I am forced to think that the stardom has struck her hard in the head.  She is just striving to be "unique"and make her performances exquisite thereby, following Lady Gaga's path.To her disappointment, her attempts are in vain and spark critical comments, one after the other more painful.  Inside she is just someone looking out for serious help and is hit with a massive attack of depression. Her recent break up with Liam Hemsworth may have had a psychological impact on her too. Her signals from her performances are plain and simple......
MILEY CYRUS NEEDS A PSYCHIATRIST!

MEN AND MAKE UP!

Prem sees Akshaya.
Prem: "Wow. She is drop dead gorgeous isn't she?!"
Mira turns to look at Akshaya. She wonders how her cheeks are pink, how her skin is milky white and how her curls dance as she moves and how she carries herself with a spell bounding grace . As she notices, she realizes the magic of a good apparel, the right accessories and of course, the key element to beauty: MAKE UP.
The next day, she walks with a sudden confidence, dolled up to look pretty, secretly hoping she'd be a head turner. She bats her long and glossy eye lashes as she hopefully asks "Prem, how do I look?"
Prem has an astonished look.
Prem: Why the make up? I don't understand why girls wear coats of make up. It's all about the inner beauty, you know?
A hurt Mira walks away.

If you're a girl, I'm sure this is not new to you. We women folk, are ridiculed for "shielding our inner BEAUTY" with makeup. There are people who constantly shun is down, even if we look good with the make up.  And what if we sport the casual look as they demand? We could wear baggy jeans, a cool top and walk with the same confidence but that's just going to make them say " You look pale. Are you sick?" Or they'd secretly talk about how you've dressed up bad behind your back.
So it's not only women psychology that is hard to decipher.Besides it's the man's mind that is confusing. We don't understand what they want from a woman.
What's worse is they question your confidence when you sport the hot chic look. "Why the make up? Aren't you confident of your inner beauty?" Now how does confidence have anything to do with wearing make up or not? I don't quite get the idea at all. But one thing's clear from all this:Almost every man yearns to see inner beauty. But what is it? Because if a woman wears no make up and walks her way without giving much attention to how she looks, she is simply called "plain" and her "inner beauty" goes unnoticed.

My speculation on this topic is as follows:
Men don't know what make up is. They have no clue. But if they see some obvious signs of make up on your face, like smudged mascara and maybe a thick coat of foundation, they are bound to throw preposterous comments that might blow you off. So it is solely up to women to make their make up look more natural, yet compliment their face to look beautiful. I am not a make up artist, so I cannot elaborate and give you tips. But I can tell you one thing. Men dig for confidence. So be sure to add a dash of confidence to your personality before you walk out! ;) Maybe that's the inner beauty they are looking for. You never know.

MOVIES WITH FAMILY.....WARD OFF THAT BOREDOM GUYS!

So you're home! Welcome abode! How are you going to spend time with your family? You could go shopping with them, maybe even sight seeing, but at one point that just becomes boring. Or maybe you're just growing up and you can't do either activity without your friends' company. It's okay. You could spend time with your family by watching movies with them. That would rekindle those family bonds, make your memories with them happier and your time with them merrier. So are all movies appropriate to watch with your parents? the answer is a big NO. Don't be disappointed. I've got a list of splendid movies with me that can be used for your family entertainment. Go ahead, grab a few cans of coke, maybe some pop corn too and turn your home theater on!

1. The first on the list......

This movie needs no words to describe it. A musical film that simply engenders laughter around the
house. Jack Black is on the look out for band members for the big competition "Battle of the Bands".He
finds musical talent in school children and brings them into the band. How does he do that? Do they win?
    WATCH THE SHOW!

2. WHITE CHICKS
This movie is set out to tickle your bones, with two FBI agents dolled up to look like two white chicks in
a mission to protect the girls. Enjoy the movie!

3. HORRIBLE BOSSES
The obscene jokes and the the uncensored scenes apart, the movie stands out for it's plot and the screen
play. Three men determined to murder their bosses. If you think the movie is appropriate for your family,
then don't hesitate to watch the show.

4. TANGLED
Up for some animation? Something romantic and funny? Bringing back the old fairy tale stories with
    tangled.

Ben Stillen and Owen Wilson, the classic comic duo are on fire in this movie as spy agents, on a mission.
Hilarity is on fire! Check it out!

Twenty,But still your baby......

                                                                A soft kiss she lay'd
on my forehead when I wept,
A soft touch of goodbye,
she gave when I left...
Thereafter, it was me
the queen of my own feet,
the shoulder to my own head,
a new, independent me.
Sailing deep and dark oceans,
I battled powerful waves,
of twisted perks and emotions,
and learnt to make happy days.
Distance may drift me apart from her,
Work may engulf me,
But I know, her eternal love,
is the reason I breathe.
She may say she's forgotten,
may feel like a meaningless person,
but through this i wish to let her know,
I am who I am,
because she let me grow,
in her tender arms,
and her beautiful words of wisdom,
still make the air I breathe.

The people who walk your way with you......

In life, paths cross and you find people walking your way along with you. Some manage to stay on with you forever, while most turn to different paths. Even though the time we spend with them seems evanescent, memories linger for a long long time. The impact thrown on you from their side may be profound. In this phase of my life, I've come across a lot of people. And with each passing person, I've learnt a new lesson.
He was sitting with his group of friends, and me with mine. I'm cent percent sure rude judgements were made inside both our heads about one another. It took us almost a year to have a small talk. A few common friends, a rapid exchange of friendly words and we instantly, became friends. He thinks of me as his sister. I don't know what kind of a relationship we have, but I enjoy every bit of it.
Sometimes we retreat into our own shells and never talk to one another, because we're so busy. While most friends mistake us for showing attitude,we,on the contrary, understand one another. So if we meet once in a while, it's bound to be another rapid exchange of friendly gestures, maybe some snacks and some intimate secrets. And that's exactly the way I like it. Sharing, understanding and caring.
I remember one day, when my skin was soaked with my own tears, dripping every second when I got into a mess with my lecturer. My grade was at stake. Instead of stopping the tears, a fit of rage was evoked in him and  he marched to fight back from my side. It's people like this, who walk your way with you, and bring a smile on your face. Dear friend, I don't know if you're going to be in my path for a long long time and me in yours, but I do hope we cross paths in the future too and have some special moments like we always do. Thanks for being a wonderful person that you have always been! Wish you all success in your life.
And here's wishing you a very very happy birthday!

A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS.

"Miriam wished for so much in those final moments. Yet as she closed her eyes, it was not regret any longer but a sensation of abundant peace that washed over her. She thought of her entry into this world, the harami child of a lowly villager, an unintended thing, a pitiable, regrettable accident. A weed. And yet she was leaving the world as a woman who had loved and been loved back. She was leaving it as a friend, a companion, a guardian. A mother. A person of consequence at last. No. It was not so bad, Miriam thought, that she should die this way. Not so bad. This was a legitimate end to a life of illegitimate belongings.”

I don't read a lot of books. Every time I start a book, I don't have the patience to finish it. Is it the authors style of writing? Is it too predictable? Too romantic? Or is it just my lack of understanding? God knows! But there are a few books that have managed to blow my mind away. While all Dan Brown books top the list, this one makes it to the very first, "A thousand splendid suns". What separate this book from the others is the way it sweeps you off to Afghanistan, as if you are almost in the place witnessing the whole story. It starts off with a lady named Miriam, who is caught in a tragic life. But inspite of all the tragedy, Miriam does find happiness through little things, like love. Yes, this book is built in the soil of love. Love makes you act in unexpected ways, in heroic ways. The book describes relationships among people in the most beautiful way. It brings all women together in one common place-how to be brave, strong and fight for love. I do not wish to write more about the book. I am not here to introduce the other characters to you either. I think it's an awesome read, so if you can spare a day or two, I swear, you'd be glued to it.
Oh, and watch out for the twists and surprises!
